Journal Entry: Untitled..

The following is but the only love story I have ever written. This was when we were made to create a love story by our Psychology teacher way back when. I don't really know why she ever made us do it but, what the hell, it was for the grade...and i still have no idea what I'd call it..

She was marvelous. She looked breathtakingly beautiful in white. I’ve never seen her with her hair so promptly held back in a tight bun as the gossamer veil that intentionally tried to hide her whole visage showed a little outline. Yep. It was like a dream; a not so pleasant dream. She was everything I’ve ever wanted. She walked pretty slowly as if she was in slow motion, as if everything just suddenly lost some momentum as she entered the holy temple of the Almighty. Crimson petals were thrown at her feet as if everyone was adoring her infinite beauty with such frivolous and feverish glee. Until she slowly pursed her lips and forced a reluctant smile that my world began to make tremors on its own. I was lovestoned*. I was about to burst but I held back knowing that people would be looking.

People were beaming at her as if they were telling her she was really beautiful and lucky for having met a man to live her life with. As much as she tried to hide it, I could see she was pretty concerned on the moment that she was going to say “I do”. It was probably one of those so-called “jitters”. At that moment I knew I had to do something to help her out in the least. That was then when I felt my face was painstakingly contorting with such effort that I could feel my cheek revolting the fact that I was trying to make something of a smile.

I could see her looking at me. She was smiling as well with such teary-eyed expression that just made me want to pull her out of the place and take her to somewhere where she can feel the restraints leaving her like that day when I finally told her about how I felt. Oh, yes..She was pretty happy that day. But today, everything was different. Nerves were running high and anxiety never seemed so larger than life. But still, I was surprised with how much restraint I was able to come up with. Then, she was closer than ever to me. She looked at me with great longing in her eyes but I could only do so much as smile back to her and lower my head. I was giving way. I was giving my way for another person to stand beside me. I was giving way to the man that made me his best man. I was giving way to my best friend who I’ve never seen so happy before. I could see how bright his future could be and how incomplete mine would become. It was like doing a good deed butfeel really bad about it. At that moment, I seemed like I was writing not a sin but a tragedy of my own.

She was looking at him as he took her hand and led her to the altar. She looked nervous and shaking and that was when I saw my friend whispering to her trying to comfort that she forced another contortion of the face muscles. I was really amazed at how much people are becomingly good at abnormal exhibitions of the facial exteriors. Something struck me. I realized that was supposed to be my whisper and I swore I felt the reins were slowly slipping, self-projection was insignificant and consideration was the least of my worries. In that moment, I knew things would never be the same again and I’m pretty sure that it will never be. I have decided.

Goings-on 4: The Passenger

Whenever I'm driving I always have my iPod playing out loud on the car speakers. I'd be rolling it out on the streets in cool fashion. Nodding and singing along to my most favored songs, I was impervious to my surroundings. Inebriated at the moment with sheer disregard of what was going on, I didn't care. It was until I noticed a certain passenger on a jeepney before me. He was looking at me. Feeling both awkward and scrutinized, I slowly lifted up my phone to make it look like I was having a call on loudspeaker. He bought it. Hehe.

Goings-On 3: The Awakening

Yesternight, I decided to sleep late for something that anyone would consider as nothing but a waste of time. I have already planned out everything that I'd be doing the following morning. Having that in mind, I kept in my head the thought that I would be able to wake up early no matter what because some people have always provided me the notion that everything can be done if you just put your mind to it. Having finished what I was doing, I went to bed with still the idea persevering in my head. The following morning I woke up past noon. I was fooled.

Entertainment: Who wouldn't give anything for Trading Yesterday

I'm typically bored today and didn't have anything to do aside from thinking about some things that have been bugging me right at the back of mind. So what's the best thing to do?

Chill. Unwind. Relax. Put some good music on and wear those headphones.

I found this really good band way before. Their songs have gotten their well-deserved placement on my iPod's playlist. Since the moment I was able to get hold of their albums they've become to be one of my favorites. Don't ask me though how I got their pieces for it will be best for their interest granted how good they are.

The band is called Trading Yesterday. They're an American indie Christian pop rock band since 2004. David Hodges, one of the founders, used to be part of Evanescence as a keyboardist and support vocals but has graciously backed out and created Trading Yesterday. Unfortunately, most of the groups works aren't entirely accessible due to the lack of support from major recording labels and what's worse is that they have already disbanded. You can check out their MySpace account for more information.

Here are some of their songs (my favorites actually):

1. Love Song Requiem

2. Shattered

3. May I

4. Revolution

Entertainment: Claymore

My former classmate once asked me what anim would I recommend for him to check out. I've had a few in mind but I guess he might have seen them before since they're quite one of the mainstream roster out. So I thought again and one came into mind immediately. Claymore.

Claymore is the story of a young woman who is a part of an elite organization that is tasked to battle out Yoma (sentient beings who feed on human organs) in a world full of darkness and secrets. Claymores are human beings experimentally infused with the flesh of a Yoma to be able to gain the strength and power of the former. They are called such for they weeld gargantuan weapons called "Claymores". After being subjected to the process, a claymore then starts to possess silver eyes which also gave them the nickname "silver-eyed witches". Ironically, they were created to battle Yomas but humans detest them for being who they are and being afraid of the fact that they might be no different than the monsters they fight.

Clare, the main protagonist of the story, is the lowest ranked soldier of that organization and was often looked over by the others who stood higher than hers. Like any other anime, you get to see her become one of those stronger casts but what's different about this one is her motivations. She basks on the thought of avenging those important to her that were unforgivably wronged and taken away instead of the typical aspirations of being together again for the sake of love and brotherhood. Anyways, you're gonna have to watch the series to get the better and juicier parts out of it. This one is smart, fast-paced, visually grandiose, effective and very graphic. Check the fan-made trailer below to get a glimpse.

Entertainment: Enter Dissidia

The final fantasy series have been one of the most lucrative franchises that the gaming industry has ever fathomed. It has evolved from a two-dimensional turn-based role playing game to a ground-breaking visual spectacle before the eyes of the most vigorous players on Earth. Putting aside all these technological advancement that is quite evident in the games, the more attractive part of it all are the characters and storyline that each series produced making each of them all stand out against the others and more so, from other games with the same make.

Just recently, I was able to discover a new game that Square-Enix had released in Japan. The game is called Dissidia: Final Fantasy. The game is perhaps well-anticipated as to its attribute of being a fighting game in itself. For me, this seemed kinda new since Square have been more concentrating on creating RPG's than this kind. What's more interesting is that it has brought back unforgettable characters that hailed from the entire FF spectrum. Now that I think about it, I'd like to see Cloud Strife, Squall Leonhart and Zidane Tribal get into a brawl to the death to see who's the real man among them. Based on the game intro cinematic, it looks like it'll be more like a battle against their respective nemesis since they've decided to tag along anyway. Check the trailer out.

Entertainment: Where did Sandara Park?

Marked by boredom and the myriad of youtube videos, I decided to fill my time with watching visual footages of people trying to make it big in the newest place for a reality "TV" star, YouTube. As I tried to key in Lollipop with the hopes of finding Lil Wayne's cover, I instead found something weird yet interesting.

The estranged and once rising superstar, Sandara Park has been spotted yet again. Not in the Philippines but in her own motherland. After her desperate act of posing sexy on a mag, it looks like the "krung-krung" finally gave up on her chances in the country and tried her luck in South Korea. Fortunately, it seems like things are looking up as the "Michelle Branch look-a-like"(at least to my perception) is now slowly becoming a celebrity there -- I think. It seems that it is an endorsement commercial film where Sandara is also an endorser among other Korean celebrities. As we all know, an endorsement could probably mean that she's getting popular.

I must say that the jingle is catchy, the set is expensive and top-notch, and she's pretty even for Korean standards. Now, we know what to answer when seeing people with that statement on their shirt. Hehe.
